OBJECTIVES
The Benoit Chamoux Foundation, created in March 1996 under the auspices of the Foundation of France, aims
to develop social and cultural projects in Nepal and Tibet. These projects are inspired from Benoit Chamoux,
who disappeared in Himalaya in 1995 while climbing his 14th 26000ft peak.
Sherpa Orphan Godfathering
What is the Sherpa orphan godfathering? It is a moral and financial commitment over 6,8 or 10 years that assures the
children will be enrolled in good private boarding schools in Kathmandu. The education they receive will allow
them to realize themselves professionally while also helping them to preserve their Sherpa culture.
The annual cost is 1250 € (to be paid in a single or multiple instalments). The existing sponsors cover most of
our needs, but to grow we need additional godfathers.
This engagement is available not only to individuals but also to clubs, associations, schools...such an action brings
to the author the satisfaction of accomplishing an invaluable human act.
We only take new children on board when we know that we can accompany them during all their school years.
It is a wise strategy!
We need you, your help to be able to go on and to secure our efforts. Thanks in advance for your generous
donation.
